What Is a Digital Signature and When Should You Use One?
A digital signature (also called an e-signature) is an electronic representation of your handwritten signature. In everyday usage — freelance contracts, Google Docs approvals, email footers, PDF acknowledgments, school forms — it works exactly like a physical signature and saves you the hassle of printing, signing, scanning, and re-uploading a document.
This tool gives you two ways to create one. In Draw mode you use your mouse or touchscreen finger to sign just as you would with a real pen — the result looks genuinely handwritten. In Type mode you type your name and choose one of five professional cursive fonts (Dancing Script, Great Vibes, Pacifico, Satisfy, Caveat) — ideal when you want a consistent signature every time or when your natural handwriting doesn't translate well to mouse movements.
The key feature that makes this tool genuinely useful is the transparent PNG download. Unlike screenshots or photos of signatures (which always have a white or coloured background), a transparent PNG can be placed over any document or background without showing an ugly box around it. In Microsoft Word, go to Insert → Pictures; in Google Docs, Insert → Image; in Adobe Acrobat, use the Stamp or Image Annotation tool. Most modern PDF editors also accept pasted clipboard images directly.
For legally binding transactions in Pakistan — property deeds, court filings, banking instruments — a hand-signed wet signature or NADRA-verified digital certificate is still the standard. This tool is designed for everyday convenience use, not as a substitute for legally regulated e-signature systems.
